It’s the world, dear.

Tomorrow my parents head off to Nigeria. It’s a two-week mission trip with their church, and in light of recent events (the death of a certain terrorist, pre-election violence), a lot of of prayer and discernment has gone into the decision to go through with the trip. I’ve heard stories from the long-term missionary who has been in the region for some years – stories of Muslims allowing Christians to build schools and the two communities setting aside differences to support each other. God is at work, and it’s an awesome opportunity to be a part of it.

All the same, prayers for would be appreciated. Even if you may not agree with the driving desire to bear the gospel of Christ through support of the physical and educational needs of the communities, I hope you will join with me in seeking safety for the group as they travel and are away from home.
